[ Cassian is perched just outside one of the furthest tents of the caravan, out of the blazing sun as he reads over the vellum scroll in his hands several times, trying to memorize it. Only once he is done so does he put it away and pull the silver pendant out of his clothes to send a message to the rest. ]

So, I am still fairly new here. Finding my feet.

Surely there is a way to be useful? A way to earn a credit or two?

I’ve heard that there are things in the desert, that can be found by those with sharp eyes. But are they even worth the retrieval, I wonder? Who would even want them?

So these artifacts - they have abilities you can clearly see when looking at them?

There’s always a collector for anything, but certain things can you killed for asking around with the wrong people.

What about historical items? Records? Writings? Nothing with magic, just with words.

Some may be hidden. Some null. I doubt there is any pattern as such to their abilities or lack thereof. Some items seem quite useless in any capacity, but then I suppose I would be a more discerning collector.

I overheard Dr. McCoy sharing some literature he discovered, though I cannot know if he would wish to part with it.

Does that mean you’re a collector yourself?

Do you know where I can find him? I’m not looking to buy - just get a sense of what I’m dealing with.

Most assuredly not. But I have known collectors, so I understand the type.
