[ Cassian is perched just outside one of the furthest tents of the caravan, out of the blazing sun as he reads over the vellum scroll in his hands several times, trying to memorize it. Only once he is done so does he put it away and pull the silver pendant out of his clothes to send a message to the rest. ]
So, I am still fairly new here. Finding my feet.
Surely there is a way to be useful? A way to earn a credit or two?
I’ve heard that there are things in the desert, that can be found by those with sharp eyes. But are they even worth the retrieval, I wonder? Who would even want them?

Back home I have contacts for this sort of thing - people to find who is looking for what and who it might be worth something to.
But the easiest way to get cheated is by trying to make deals when you don’t know anything about anything.

Not many of us know anything about anything about this world, except our tasks here, and what we've seen, and what we know from our old lives. I knew how to fight long before I came here. But it might be that you could ask the people who aid us, or the people whose parties we join.
You've made a lot of deals?

Brother good with tech. That always wanted. Sand get in everything. Lots to fix.
[But tech isn't the only option around here.] Brother know anything about magic?

Good to see you, brother.
Tech, I can do. Artifacts, I need the history before I can judge the worth.
Magic… just a few children’s stories about the Jedi. I don’t even know where to start.

Kahl fix things, catch food... [He chuckles.] And people pay Kahl to be big and look tough. Brasso could look tough, maybe.
[As for the magic, they're both dealing with unfamiliar stuff.] Mm. Kahl not know much more. Seen Tenno magic, but this place different.

Besides, I seem to remember that afternoon as particularly enjoyable.

A: true
2: I guess if I pick and choose, that afternoon wasn't too bad.

Let's just say I have an expansive wheelhouse and a nose for opportunity. [ And no compunctions about mixing metaphors. ] You probably want a magic guy on board too, but good luck finding one who's familiar with such concepts as "the economy."
What do you make of the gadget they gave you? [ You know, the one we're talking on right now. ]

As far as I have seen, the trinkets found in the sand seem to risk ire more often than wonder. You may be lucky to give away some for free.

Ire? Why would artifacts bring ire? What’s wrong with them?
